Meg was our first dog and she literally changed our life. We’d just bought our first house together and got engaged and we decided to get a dog, so we adopted Meg, aged three months, from the RSPCA Liverpool.
Meg is the reason we fell in love with dogs and went on to adopt seven more.
Meg was black lab crossed with terrier and she was the epitome of a good dog. If you had to write down everything you’d want in a dog, you’d have Meg. She was soft, loved everyone and everything, obedient, calm, well behaved, she didn’t bark excessively, she didn’t beg, you could take her anywhere and she was an absolute pleasure to own. She never gave us an ounce of trouble and she made us smile every single day.
Meg unfortunately died in March 2019 from bowel cancer. Up until a week before she died she was full of beans, still climbing mountains in Wales and going on long walks and swimming in any type of water she could get near! We miss her every day and talk about her every day so she will live on always in our hearts and memories. Her best friend, brother Alfie, died just nine months after Meg from another type of cancer (although we believe he just didn’t want to stick around without Meg). Meg’s sister Dolly also passed on In 2021.
Meg, Alfie and Dolly are survived by their doggy siblings Roxi, Rudy, Stella, Marley and Dorothy.
We hope reading about Meg has put a smile on your face and finding one of her many, many balls has put a spring in your dog’s step. Cuddle your dog tight and enjoy every second as unfortunately, they aren’t around forever!
