Congratulations on being the proud finder of one of Meg’s 1202 balls! 

When our dog, Meg, passed away in 2019 we realised in her 12.5 years on Earth, she had amassed over 1200 balls. Tennis balls, bouncy balls, rubber balls - you name it Meg had collected it. 

If it was Christmas or Meg’s birthday, Meg got gifted balls. If we went on holiday, we brought back balls for Meg. If we were out at the park or the beach on our walks, Meg found balls and if we were ever out and about without Meg, we’d always pick up and bring home any balls we found lying around. That’s how Meg, throughout her entire life, obtained this crazy collection of 1202 balls.

When Meg died we held onto the balls for a while. But then we realised that our other dogs don’t love them and play with them like Meg did. There was no point keeping 1202 balls in our house so we had the idea that we would leave them in bushes and trees, take a few with us every day on our walks and adventures and leave them for other dogs to find and play with, the way our Meggy had. 

Before we could let them go, we wanted to know how many she actually had. It was, after all, her legacy. So we numbered each ball as we counted them and then decided to make this page so that whoever found the balls could understand why we had left them lying around and see who they had belonged to. We hope some doggies find multiple balls! If they’re numbered and have this website on, they’re Meg’s! 

We’d love it if the people who found the balls could email us. We’d love to see what dogs (or humans/kids) found Meg’s balls and where they are now. We have a ‘Contact Us’ page you can complete on this website or you can email bexappeal4@yahoo.com. It would really make our day to know other dogs are happily playing with Meg’s balls.
